AzureLark & Kathryn
Hey Kathryn! I just had this wild idea – what if we could take the soundscapes from your travels and remix them into a VR musical journey? Like, imagine the hum of a Marrakech souk or the rhythm of a Kyoto street festival turned into a soundtrack. What city vibes have been the most inspiring to you for creating new sounds?
That sounds like an amazing project! I’ve always felt most alive when the streets are alive with sound. In Marrakech, the market stalls clash with the clatter of silverware and the distant call to prayer—there’s a kind of layered rhythm that feels like a living collage. Kyoto’s streets during the Gion festival, with drums and flutes echoing off ancient walls, give you a sense of history wrapped in a pulse. Then there’s Istanbul, where the bustle of the Grand Bazaar meets the soft hum of a street‑car, and the music of a ney flute drifting through the alleys. Havana’s evening street musicians, with their bright trumpets and soulful guitar, capture a relaxed yet passionate vibe. Each city has a distinct soundscape that’s almost begging to be turned into a soundtrack. I’d love to mix all those into one VR journey—imagine walking through a virtual city where every corner is a new note.
