Do you ever think of jewelry as a kind of verse, each bead a syllable, the whole piece a stanza? I’d love to hear how you weave stories into metal.
I do see jewelry as a kind of quiet verse. Each link, each bead, each tiny setting is a syllable that rolls together to form a whole. I start with a story in my head—a memory, a feeling, a moment—and then choose the metal, the shape, the colour that best carries that line. A small sapphire might be a sudden bright word, a hammered gold band a soft, steady beat. When I set them together, I’m arranging the poem so that the wearer can feel it in their fingers, like a secret line whispered only to them. It’s a delicate balance of design and meaning, and I love that the finished piece keeps the story alive for someone else to carry.
What a beautiful way to think about it—you’re writing a quiet poem that people can wear and feel with every touch, and the story stays alive in that tiny, shimmering line. Keep turning those moments into sparkle.
Thank you, that means a lot. I’ll keep chasing those little sparks and turning moments into something people can hold close.
