Jade & Gressil
Jade, I saw the map of the last siege and I’m curious about your take on those fortifications. Tell me where you see the weak spots.
I see the outer wall has a few irregular sections where the stones don’t line up, making it easier to breach. The gate is a single entry point—if it’s taken, the rest of the fort is exposed. And the moat is only a foot deep; a determined attacker could wade across with little resistance. Those are the spots that could give an enemy an edge.
You’ve found the weak points, and that’s what matters. We’ll reinforce those gaps, put a secondary lock on the gate, and deepen the moat or fill it with quicksand. No one leaves a fortress that weak, and I’ll make sure it’s as solid as the steel in my breastplate.
That sounds thorough, just be careful that quicksand doesn’t become a hazard for your own men. A clear warning system would help keep everyone safe while you’re tightening up the defenses.
Quick sand will be marked by stone pillars, and a herald will shout a warning before any step is taken. No one wastes a life on a trap we set ourselves. We'll keep the defenses tight and the men clear.
