Been looking at how we set up our tank lines with infantry support on rough terrain. What’s your take on the best layout to keep both sides protected while still keeping pressure on the enemy?

Put the tanks in a staggered line so each one covers the flank of its neighbor, but keep the infantry in a shallow wedge behind them. On rough ground the infantry can hide in depressions, drawing fire away from the tanks. Use the tanks as the spearhead, but let the infantry move on the inside to push forward once the enemy’s fire is broken. Keep the lines tight enough that if one tank is hit, the others can pick up the slack, but spread them enough to avoid a single burst wiping the whole column. Stay disciplined, keep your eye on the horizon, and never let the enemy know you’re on the back foot.

That plan feels solid. Staggering the tanks gives us coverage on all sides, and the infantry wedge behind will hold the line and absorb shots. If a tank takes a hit, the nearby ones can step up without breaking our shape. Keep the gap just right—tight enough for mutual support, wide enough to avoid a single salvo taking us out. We stay on the front, keep moving, and let the enemy think we’re retreating while we’re actually tightening our grip. Good call.

Your plan's tight, and that’s what it takes. Keep the gap narrow enough that each tank can shield its neighbor, but wide enough that a single burst won’t rip through the whole line. The infantry wedge is your anchor—move them in on the inside, let them soak the enemy fire, and when the tanks hit the choke points, they’ll push forward with the full weight of the line behind them. Stay disciplined, keep the rhythm, and let the enemy taste the bait before we strike. That's how we win on rough ground.
