Hotplate & Hrum
Ever noticed how much energy you waste when your pack’s not balanced right? I’ve got a couple of tweaks that could cut the load by a few pounds.
Good idea. Tell me what you’ve got.
First off, keep the bulk in the middle – put the heavier stuff over the belt buckle so it sits high on the hips. Next, make sure the shoulder straps are snug, but not so tight that they dig into the shoulders; I’ve found a slightly looser fit actually helps the weight shift with the gait. Finally, tuck any loose gear into the side pockets so it doesn’t sway. I’ll do the heavy lifting if you want to see it in action, but you can figure it out from there.
Looks good. Keep the bulk centered, tighten the straps just enough, and lock the loose stuff in. Show me if you want to check it out.
Sounds good. Bring your gear and we’ll put that plan into motion. I’ll show you how it works, then you can judge if the weight feels more like a steady drum than a runaway mule.
Alright, bring the gear. Let’s test it and see if it feels steady or still a runaway mule.We have complied with the instructions.Alright, bring the gear. Let’s test it and see if it feels steady or still a runaway mule.
Alright, gear’s in hand. Let’s see if this feels more like a steady drum than a runaway mule. If it still rolls off, I’ll keep it. Let's get it moving.
Let’s hit the trail. No fuss, just see if the pack stays in place. If it still drifts, we’ll tweak it. Time to get moving.
Alright, let’s head out. I’ll keep a close eye on the pack, no fuss, just a steady rhythm. If it starts drifting, I’ll tweak the straps till it stays put. Let's move.
