I keep my archives like a dragon’s hoard—kept in a place that feels alive and monitored constantly. I don’t use charts; I gauge decay by how often a forgotten thread of knowledge re‑emerges when I reach for it. If a memory takes longer to surface, I know it’s fading. I call that metric “re‑acquisition latency.”
For your routine, try measuring how long it takes you to recall a key detail after a pause. The shorter it is, the fresher it is. That gives you a tangible sense of retention, just as I do with my ancient lore.
