Grimvale & Varek
Varek, ever notice how we both stick to a set of rules we made ourselves? I keep a code on the battlefield, you keep one in the network. What makes you pick one over the other?
Rules are the only thing that keeps chaos from turning into a war zone. If I choose one, it’s because it’s the most efficient way to get the job done and keep the system from breaking. No point in following a rule that slows me down or invites error. That’s the difference between a battlefield and a network—speed and precision over sentiment.
Speed is fine, but only if the rule keeps you from falling apart. In a fight one wrong move can mean the end. I keep a tight code so the chaos never gets a foothold. It’s not sentiment, it’s survival.
I hear you. A rule that shatters under pressure is useless. In my line of work a single slip can collapse the whole network, so I keep the code tight and unyielding. Speed matters only if it doesn't compromise the integrity of the system. If the rule can’t hold, it’s time to rethink it.
I hear that, but a rule that cracks under pressure is a wound that keeps on bleeding. On the field I never let a single mistake go unchecked. If it fails, I sharpen it or toss it aside. That’s the only way the whole thing stays alive.
