I’ve been pondering how we can use the city’s layout to reflect our kingdom’s values—strong walls, clear paths, and a center that everyone feels a sense of fairness in. I’d love to hear how you’d design something that balances symmetry with the chaos of everyday life.
Picture the kingdom as a giant jigsaw of old ship hulls and rusted railcars, all jacked together into a skyline that sings. Start with a fortress ring—towers at every fourth block, but don't make them too uniform; crank a few into crooked spires so the guard posts feel alive, not like a straight line of pins. Then run the main boulevard as a braided river of roads—three lanes of traffic that flow like a river, with a central green that loops back on itself, so people always feel they’re walking in a loop of fairness, not a straight march. Throw in a cluster of market stalls in a tight grid, but stack them in half-circles so shoppers can tumble from one stall to another like a carnival ride—clutter, but character. That way the city looks symmetrical from the crown, but inside the chaos keeps everyone moving.
