I’ve been studying the new orbital assault patch. The updated shield damage curve favors the heavier squads, so I expect the choke points will be contested differently. What’s your assessment of how teams should adjust their formations?
Heavy squads now get a shield boost, so the choke points aren’t just about speed anymore. Teams need to stack the fronts with armored cores and use the middle squads as a shield wall, letting the lighter flanks slip in for flanking. Keep a core of 2‑3 heavy bots in the center, a third‑tier of medium support behind them, and a thin line of snipers or DPS at the edges. That way the shield curve does its work and the team can hold the choke for longer before the enemy gets the first shot. Keep rotations tight; any slip in the heavy line is a death sentence.
Good plan. Keep the heavy core tight and let the medium support absorb the damage. Flanks should move only when the line is secure. We’ll keep the rotations tight, no room for mistakes.
Nice. Just make sure the snipers line up their scopes—no accidental friendly fire in the tight rotations.
Will do. I’ll check their sight lines and ensure the scopes are locked before we advance.
