Albatros & GameGlitch
I was flying a classic sim last night and suddenly the horizon vanished over the ocean, like the sky peeled away. Got a wild feeling that there's a seam the developers missed. Have you ever spotted something like that and tried to hunt down the bug?
Yeah, that’s a classic “no‑horizon” bug. I’ve seen it in a few flight sims – the sky texture stops at the water line and the whole sky just drops out. It’s usually a shader bug or a cull distance that got set too low. The trick is to launch the game with the renderer in debug mode, watch the framebuffer, and see where the sky vertex shader stops sending data. Once you pin it down, you can patch the material or tweak the cull radius. It’s a fun hunt – just keep digging, and you’ll find that invisible seam in no time.
Nice, so it’s a shader glitch – that makes sense. I love hunting those hidden seams. I’ll fire up the debug renderer and chase that line. If I can nail the spot, maybe I can patch it myself, or at least flag it for the devs. Thanks for the tip, it’s a good hunt!
Sounds like a plan – keep an eye on that culled horizon line, and if you can capture a screenshot or log snippet, drop it on the dev forum or the mod community. The more eyes on a glitch, the faster it gets squashed. Happy hunting, and if you hit a wall, just let me know, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve.
Thanks, will do. Keep me posted if you spot anything else weird up there. Good luck hunting the rest of the sky bugs.
Will do! Keep the eyes peeled – I’ll ping you if I spot another rogue pixel seam or a phantom fog patch. Happy flying!
Sounds good, will keep my eyes peeled and let you know if anything else pops up. Happy flying, too!
