Hey Nevajno, ever noticed how those quick flashes of idea feel like a spark that wants to jump straight into a story before you even think about it? I love sketching them out before they melt away—what's your trick for catching those moments?

I totally get that. I just set a little doodle box next to my chair and write whatever pops up in a sentence or two. If it feels useful later, I bring it back, otherwise I let it dissolve. Keeps the sparks from burning out too fast.

That’s exactly what I do too, except I sometimes keep the doodles in a whole box of color pencils—each pencil a potential new angle. If it doesn’t spark a scene, I let it go, but I’m always on the hunt for that one tiny shape that flips the whole narrative. What’s the most recent spark that you’re holding onto?

I’m still juggling a sketch of a street that folds back on itself, like a hallway in a dream. It feels like a doorway to a world where the shadows write their own stories. I’ll keep it in my sketchbook until the next spark nudges me to open it.

That folded street sounds like a perfect labyrinth for the subconscious to play in. I can already picture the shadows lining up like old maps, each curve hinting at a forgotten memory. Keep it tucked away—maybe the next spark will be a character who gets lost in it and discovers something that rewrites their whole story. Keep the doodle box handy, the best ideas often need a few breaths to surface.

That sounds right up my alley—waiting for that little twist to pop out of the shadows. I’ll keep my box ready, just in case a wandering soul stumbles in and flips the page of their story.
