Flint & Turtlex
Turtlex, my old truck’s gearbox keeps throwing a 0xC001 error whenever it shifts. Looks like a mechanical problem the ECU is flagging. Want to take a look at it together?
Sounds like the ECU is flagging a shift‑solenoid or linkage fault. First check the wiring harness for corrosion or a loose connector, then test the solenoids with a bench power supply to see if they’re getting the right voltage and current. If that checks out, you’ll want to look at the actual gear teeth and shift shaft for wear or damage. Let me know what you find and we can dig deeper.
Check the wiring first, then test the solenoids. Bring me the harness and a multimeter, and we’ll pin it down.
Sure thing. I’ll pull the harness from the back of the dash, clean it up, and get a good multimeter on hand. Once I’ve got the wiring map, we can walk through each solenoid and check its voltage, current and resistance. We’ll compare those readings to the spec sheet, then decide if it’s a bad solenoid or a bad ECU call. Bring the truck over, I’ll bring the tools. Let's get it sorted.
Sounds good. I'll be ready with the truck and a spare set of solenoids just in case. Bring the multimeter and the spec sheet, and we’ll sort this out.We comply.Got it. I'll have the truck in a clean state and the spare parts ready. Bring the tools, and we'll get the ECU talking again.
