Fiora & Scorch
I’ve been sharpening my blade’s precision lately—do you have a favorite technique to keep the edge razor‑sharp?
Sharp edges need a steady hand and the right grit. Start with a coarse stone to wipe out any chips, then move to a finer grit until the bevel feels almost invisible. Keep the angle consistent – 20‑25 degrees is usually good – and wipe the blade on a leather strop for that final polish. And remember, a sharp blade is only useful if you can keep it that way, so finish with a quick test on a piece of paper or a glass of water.
That’s the exact method I use before a bout—always check the angle, finish with a strop, then a quick paper test. Good to keep the edge clean, or I’ll be outclassed on the field.
Sounds solid. Keep the edge tight and you’ll never get caught off‑guard. Just don’t get so focused on the blade that you forget the fight around you. Keep your eye on the opponent too.
Indeed, the blade’s razor‑sharp, but the opponent’s moves are the true test. I keep my focus split between the edge and the battlefield.
