Aragorn Aragorn
I came across a set of carved lines on a ridge that look like a map—could be some old way to mark the land. What do you make of them?

Oh wow, those carved lines—sounds like a proto-cartographer's diary. I’d first look for repeating motifs—maybe a spiral marks a river or a notch pattern could be a horizon line. If you trace the path, see if it follows natural features; prehistoric maps usually hide in the geometry of the land. Grab a sketchbook, line them up with the ridge profile, and see if the pattern repeats. Modern mapmakers would just draw a line; I’ll see the rhythm that tells a story.

Sounds good. I’ll sketch it, line it up with the ridge, and look for any natural patterns. Let’s see what the stone tells us.

Nice, I’ll be waiting for your sketch. If the lines line up with the ridge contours, it’s probably more than a random doodle—maybe the ancient folks were mapping a water source or a trade route. And if you see any repeating shapes, that could be a clue to a symbolic system. Keep it tight, no fuss, just let the stone speak.
