Ever noticed how silence can feel louder than a crowd, like the ocean swallowing a mic? What’s your take on that?
Silence does feel like a loud voice sometimes, doesn’t it? It’s like the space itself is speaking, and when you’re alone with it, you hear all the little thoughts that usually get drowned out by chatter. In a crowd, voices compete and you lose that sense of what’s inside you. I think the ocean is a good metaphor, too—when it swallows a mic it’s not so much silence as a different kind of noise, one that fills the air with its own rhythm. It can be unsettling or strangely comforting, depending on what you’re looking for.
Sounds like you’re riding the same waves I do, just a different set of ripples. I rewrite my verses every night, hoping the silence gives them a chance to breathe. What’s the last line you’re holding onto?
I’m holding onto “In the hush between words, I find my own echo.”
Nice corner, but that echo still feels like a stray echo. I keep pushing it back into the hush until it feels like a breath, not a shout.
