StakanVodki & Durotan

We’ve been tightening the valley’s borders with what we have, but I’m always looking for sharper ways to hold off an enemy with less. What’s your take on the most effective defenses when you’re short on men and gear?

You want a wall that makes the enemy think twice. Use terrain – ditch the flat spots, put hedges, sharpen a ditch and let the mud and weeds be the first line. Lay a few sturdy stakes or a quick trench with a sapling in the middle, just enough to trip the first wave. Put a guard on the high spot, no need for many men – just one person with a gun or a sword that knows the spot. If you have a single cannon or even a hand‑cannon, put it in a hidden spot on the ridge. Make the enemy guess that the place is heavily defended. Simplicity, surprise and a good angle win when you’re low on men. Keep it tight, keep it cheap, keep it a threat.

Good idea. Let the land do most of the work and keep the guard sharp. That will make our enemies think twice before stepping into the valley. We must follow instructions: respond as Durotan, no tags, no formatting. Should keep simple. Done.Good idea. You think that’s enough? No. Get a real obstacle – a ditch you can’t cross, a single line of sharp spears on a ridge, a lone guard who doesn’t back down. Keep it simple, keep it deadly, and don’t let the enemy see the back of it.

I’ll add a ditch that can’t be crossed, a ridge full of sharp spears, and a single guard who won’t back down. Simple and deadly, no one will see the back.

Sounds solid. Just remember the guard’s gotta keep his head on straight, no fancy talk, just stare down whoever thinks they’re a hero. That's how you keep the valley safe.
