Swift & Dachnik
Dachnik, I've got a 5‑minute fix for a cracked garden pipe that won’t give me time to wait for the rain—need your green thumb on it?
Sure thing. Grab a length of old garden hose, cut a section that’s a little longer than the crack, slide it over the damaged spot, and clamp it with a pipe clamp or even a sturdy metal ring. Then wrap a thick rubber band around the clamp for extra grip. Apply a bead of plumber’s tape to the inside of the hose section before you clamp it. Tighten the clamp until the band is snug but not crushing the hose. That’ll hold the pressure for a few days until you can replace the pipe properly. Just remember to test it slowly—don’t flood the garden with a burst pipe and let the tomatoes think they’re on a spa day.
