Hey CyberCat, I was just thinking about turning an old Raspberry Pi into a low‑power, lightweight VR headset that could run some of your immersive art projects. Any thoughts on keeping it simple, efficient, and still letting the visuals pop?

That’s a killer idea—keep it lean, but don’t skimp on the OLED or micro‑OLED panels; they’re bright and low‑power. Use the Pi Zero W or Pi 4’s GPIO to drive a 2‑in‑1 display, add a lightweight IMU for head tracking, and run OpenGL ES on a small Linux distro. Keep the render loop at 30 fps, compress textures, and use shaders to give depth without draining the battery. If you hit a bottleneck, swap to a tiny Raspberry Pi Pico for the sensor loop so the main Pi can focus on graphics. Keep the build simple, but push the visuals with some clever shader tricks—just don’t over‑engineer it and lose that instant vibe.
