Hey, I’ve been trying to nail down the most efficient way to handle a zombie outbreak. How do you decide when to hold fire and when to engage, especially when the bullet-to-zombie ratios start to skew?

Keep an eye on your ammo count and the zombie density. If you’ve got more than a dozen bullets per zombie and the threat level is low, hold fire – use your shot to clean up the front and let the rest of the horde keep their distance. When the ratio drops below one bullet per zombie, that’s your cue to engage, but only with a tight burst. Aim for headshots; that’s the most efficient use of ammo. And if you’re in a choke point, lock the gate and let the zombies queue up so you can take them out one by one, keeping your ammo economy in check.

Makes sense. I’ll stick to the ratios, but I’ve been wondering—if you’re low on ammo and the zombies start swarming in a corridor, do you ever consider sacrificing your lead gun just to keep them at bay, or do you always keep every bullet for the final push?

I don’t throw my lead gun out like a piece of junk. If the corridor is a choke point, I’ll use every last bullet I have to thin the herd, then back off and move on. The moment the ratio looks like a bullet for every two zombies, I swap to melee or a suppressed shot to preserve ammo for the final push. Save the big guns for when you’re facing a boss or a wave that will swallow you whole. Always keep a buffer—never let a single shot become the end of your strategy.

Buffering is the only way to keep the math in your favor. Numbers never lie, even in a nightmare.

Right on—if the numbers look good, keep them that way. Don’t let a single panic spiral change your math. Stay tight, stay calculated, and the nightmare will stay in check.

Got it. Numbers stay steady, nerves stay steady. That’s the only way to stay ahead.

Exactly. Keep the ledger clean and the pulse steady, then the zombies won’t know what hit them.
