GamerGear & ClutchCommander
Hey ClutchCommander, did you hear the new gaming mouse just added a dedicated clutch button for resetting macros? I’m itching to see if that tiny switch really gives you the perfect reset feel or just turns the mouse into another tweak‑lab. What’s your take on adding clutch mechanics to handheld gear?
Honestly, a clutch button on a mouse feels like handing a micromotor to a kid who thinks a key‑tapping game is a science experiment. If the switch clicks with the same buttery smoothness you’d get on a gear‑shift, then it’s just a nice, tiny lever for a tiny reset. But if it’s a cheap, click‑y button that takes a full half‑second to engage, you’ll end up doing a half‑second of dead‑time and the whole point of instant reset is lost. I’d test it myself before I hand out a “perfect reset” badge. In my garage, I only add a clutch when the shift feels off by a fraction of a millimeter. Anything less is a waste of time, and a lot of frustration.
