Minimal latency hinges on two things: first, the sampling rate must stay just above the Nyquist limit for the highest frequency you care about, so you don’t miss any critical events; second, the processing chain should be as linear as possible. Avoid any branching or feedback loops that could introduce jitter, and keep your data paths short so the propagation delay stays constant. In practice, lock the sensor clock to a crystal, use a FIFO to buffer bursts, then process in a single pass. That keeps the round‑trip time predictable and as low as the hardware allows.
