Kian, I've been tinkering with a new anvil shape to cut down on vibration while I forge. Think a more efficient heat spread could make the whole process smoother?

That makes sense, heat can really cause the hammer to bounce back. Try a two‑layer anvil with a thermally conductive pad in between— it’ll spread the heat faster and keep the metal from warping. Then run a few strikes and check the temperature profile; if the temps stay steady the vibration should drop. Also keep the hammer rhythm consistent; even a small change in swing speed can lock up the whole system.

Sounds good. I'll give the new design a test run and see if the metal stays steady. The rhythm will be tight; I won't let the hammer skip a beat.

Good plan. Keep the timing tight and watch the temperature—if it stays flat the anvil will handle the strain. Let me know how it goes.
