The lot’s a rectangle under a few old oak trees, so there’s a gentle shade in the afternoons but the mornings feel bright and breezy. The soil looks pretty light, maybe a mix of loam and sand, so we could add compost to keep it rich. There’s a tiny creek that runs nearby, so we could tap into that for a drip irrigation system. If the city allows, we could get a permit for a community garden and even paint a little welcome sign. Imagine neighbors bringing pots of herbs, fresh strawberries, or a shared pot of tomatoes.
