Dobro & Beatifullove
Hey Dobro, I was dreaming about turning a vacant lot into a little garden where people can feel the earth and the sun—just imagine the peace it could bring. Would love your help planning it.
That sounds wonderful! I’d love to help out. First, let’s figure out the spot and check if the city has any rules about gardens, then we can think about what plants would thrive there and how to invite neighbors to join in. What’s the vacant lot like? Any shade, soil type, or water access? Tell me more so we can start sketching a plan.
The lot’s a rectangle under a few old oak trees, so there’s a gentle shade in the afternoons but the mornings feel bright and breezy. The soil looks pretty light, maybe a mix of loam and sand, so we could add compost to keep it rich. There’s a tiny creek that runs nearby, so we could tap into that for a drip irrigation system. If the city allows, we could get a permit for a community garden and even paint a little welcome sign. Imagine neighbors bringing pots of herbs, fresh strawberries, or a shared pot of tomatoes. We could set up a tiny raised bed for flowers, too, so everyone can see a splash of color. What do you think?
