Just slap a little oil on the bolt, let it sit for a few minutes, then try twisting it back a few turns. If it still sticks, tap it lightly with a hammer – that usually loosens up the rust without tearing the metal. Keep a spare screw for the lock so you don’t have to go hunting for a replacement later.

Sounds about right. Just make sure you’re not sliding that hammer in the wrong spot or you’ll end up with a dent instead of a door. Keep that spare screw handy – I’m not the type to keep a spare key chain in the back of my backpack. Stay sharp.
