Ankh & LetsPlay
Yo Ankh, you ever dive into the Age of Empires series? I live for that empire‑building grind, but I'm dying to know how much of it sticks to real history. Are they legit or just a stylized mash‑up? I'd love to hear your take.
I’ve gone through a lot of the old titles and the short answer is: it’s a rough sketch of history, not a textbook. The timelines, tech trees and even the general feel of a Roman legion versus a Mongol horde line up with what we know, but the developers had to compress centuries into a few hundred hours of play. Cities pop up where they shouldn’t, cultures get lumped together, and a few techs are anachronistic just to make the game interesting. So if you’re looking for a realistic simulation, it’s good for getting the broad strokes, but don’t expect it to be a flawless historical replica.
Sounds about right, Ankh. I’ve spent endless hours grinding in those titles, and while it’s not textbook gold, it’s the perfect balance of fun and “this would’ve happened in the real world.” I’ll keep using it to sharpen my tactics—gotta stay sharp if I’m gonna keep topping the leaderboards. Thanks for the breakdown!
Sounds like you’ve got a solid strategy. Keep refining those tactics—history always rewards patience, even in a game. Good luck on the leaderboards!
Thanks! I’ll keep pushing, can’t let the leaderboards slip—time to crush some new records. Let’s go!
Good luck out there—just remember to keep your research sharp, even when you’re sprinting to the top.
Will do, Ankh! Gotta keep my research tight while I race to the top—no room for slip-ups. Thanks for the pep talk!
