The walls were heavily compressed where the water column was deepest, but the overall plan still follows the typical Hellenistic coastal layout. The buried streets and the alignment of the temples suggest they knew the currents well enough to orient their docks. It’s fascinating to see how the pressure simply nudged the stones rather than smashing them outright.
