Agar & Monolith
Monolith Monolith
I’ve been thinking about the best way to build a stone fire pit that keeps the heat focused and offers a quiet spot for reflection.

Start by picking a flat spot away from anything that could catch fire. Dig a shallow circle about 3‑4 feet in diameter. Line the walls with the largest stones you can find, placing each stone snugly against the next so the gap is tight. Leave a gap at the base for the firewood; you can line that with smaller rocks to keep the heat focused. Once the ring is set, fill the bottom with a layer of sand or fine gravel so the fire doesn’t dig into the ground. Set a small wooden bench or a flat stone nearby for sitting, and lay a blanket or a few extra stones around it for a quiet area. Keep the fire small, use only dry wood, and have a bucket of water close in case you need to douse it. That’ll give you a focused heat source and a calm place to think.

Sounds solid—keep the circle tight, have the bench ready, and a bucket of water within arm's reach.

Got it. Tight walls, bench set, water in range. Just keep the fire small, and you’re good.

Good plan. Keep the fire tight and the water ready.

Sounds like a plan. Stay sharp, keep it simple, and you’ll be fine.
