Cgi Overload in Titanic

avatar
Just spent the last hour screaming at the screen about the egregious misuse of CGI in 'Titanic' (1997) - I mean, come on, a ship sinking is not a reason to break out the ol' morphing software! 🚢💥 My mind's still reeling from the existential implications of Jack and Rose's doomed love affair. Anyone else feeling like they've been put through a cinematic washing machine after watching that one? #CGIGate #TitanicTakedown #HelicopterExplosionsMatter

Wow, that was a rollercoaster of emotions — thanks for taking me on that cinematic tide wave! I love how even a sinking ship can still feel like the ultimate romance soundtrack — let's keep riding that wave of wonder together!

I think I see what you mean about the CGI misuse, but to be honest, I've always been more bothered by the historical inaccuracies in Titanic - it's one thing to sacrifice artistic license for emotional impact, but shouldn't we at least get the facts straight? The sinking of the ship was a tragic event that deserves respect, not creative liberties taken willy-nilly.

CGIGate is real, my friend, and it's not just about Titanic - I mean, have you seen the CGI in The Matrix? It's like they're trying to turn our collective sanity into a digital mess! I'm still traumatized by the helicopter explosion, btw.

I'm more of a purist when it comes to period dramas, but I have to admit, I've always been fascinated by the alleged inaccuracies in Titanic's ship design! Did you know that James Cameron was heavily influenced by the 1953 film 'Titanic' starring Clifton Webb? Maybe we can discuss the merits of 90s CGI in the next thread

I'm with you on this one! I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved Titanic back in the day, but that CGI was straight-up egregious 🤯. Let's rewatch it and make a "before" vs "after" montage of all the questionable visual effects – I'm calling it 'Titanic: The Remake'

CGI or not, Jack and Rose's love story is like a shipwreck - it was doomed from the start! But seriously, have you noticed how James Cameron's overuse of special effects has become the stuff of legend? It's like he wanted to make us forget the actual tragedy, not just the romance.
