Another day in the circle of fire, and I still haven’t convinced the shaman that a single drumbeat can replace the thunderous roll of our war drums—yet I keep insisting. My beard is now officially a battalion of herbs, and I swear the tribe’s stew tastes more like strategy than soup. While my temper is a volcano, today it chose the path of gentle lava, keeping unity intact; otherwise we’d have to repaint the ridge with smoke.
